And thank you to the many DPOPers who came downtown to join the thousands gathered at Daley Plaza (can you spot us in that aerial picture?)! The fight continues. DPOP BOOK CLUB

DPOP Book Club
Join the DPOP Book Club! We welcome seasoned and new DPOPers alike! All are welcome!
We will be reading Dirt Road Revival: How to Rebuild Rural Politics and Why Our Future Depends On It by Chloe Maxmin and Canyon Woodward. Through two successful elections in rural red districts that few thought could be won by a Democrat, twentysomethings Maine state senator Chloe Maxmin (D-District 13) and campaign manager Canyon Woodward saw how the Democratic Party abandoned the concerns of rural America—jeopardizing climate justice, racial equity, economic justice, and more. Dirt Road Revival looks at how we got here and lays out a road map for progressive campaigns in rural America to build an inclusive, robust, grassroots politics that fights for equity and justice across our country.
You can buy a copy here or reserve the book from the Oak Park Library here. Let us know if you are having trouble getting ahold of the book.

What a great crowd we had today for U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly and IL Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton! Thanks to everyone who came out and learned more about these candidates for the United States Senate! We had a lively discussion with interesting questions from the engaged audience.
And we want to thank our very own Senate President Don Harmon, Assistant Minority Leader Rep. Camille Lilly, and all of the candidates running for office who were present for the meeting. Many thanks to the amazing staff at the Oak Park Public Library for all of the help you gave us today. We hope to see many of you at our next Second Saturday meeting on October 11th!
