Since the November election, we have been contacted by thousands of new volunteers and people wanting to get involved. We are proud to announce our new volunteer initiative to harness this energy so we can work together to defeat Rauner in 2018 and Trump in 2020 -- Cook County Together!
Our first kickoff meeting will be Saturday May 6, from 10 AM till Noon at Teamster City (300 S Ashland) and we have a great lineup of speakers for this event, including elected officials, labor leaders and activists:
- Hear from speakers on Democratic issues & strategy including President Toni Preckwinkle, Commissioner Debra Shore (MWRD), representatives from CTU and other labor unions, and grassroots Democratic strategists. Full speaking line-up will be released soon
- MOST IMPORTANTLY: Find out how you can get involved, including with a countywide canvass and voter registration effort that will be starting the following weekend.
Teamster City (300 S Ashland) is just two blocks from the Racine Blue Line station (Loomis exit), and the #9 Ashland and #126 Jackson buses stop out front. Free street parking is available, as well as a parking garage on Jackson just west of Ashland.
Today, September 18, Oak Park residents are invited to the Parks Foundation of Oak Park's (PFOP) "A Place to Belong" celebration at the future site of the new Oak Park Community Recreation Center (CRC) at 229 Madison Street. The event will take place from 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m.
